CRACKSEALING
Cracks properly sealed keep water out of the base beneath the blacktop and
prevent the base from settling and moving from freeze thaw cycles. This is
what creates potholes. Proper cracksealing requires that the cracks are
routered out to the proper width providing a reservoir of rubber cracksealer that
will keep the crack sealed as the surface expands and contracts. The crack
then is blown clean and hot rubber cracksealer meeting ASTM D 3405
specification is applied. If cracks are not routered or cold poured crack sealer
is used the cracks will not stay sealed.
ALL CRACKS WE ROUT AND SEAL ARE GUARANTEED NOT TO REOPEN
FOR 3 YEARS OR THEY WILL BE RESEALED AT NO CHARGE.
SEALCOATING
Proper preparation and materials are the key to good looking, long lasting
sealcoating. Before we apply sealer the cracks must be sealed and the
surface cleaned. Grass is trimmed back from the edges, oil drip spots and
problem areas are scrubbed and primed as necessary.
Amnguard PLUS
sealer formulated and mixed in our own exclusive blend is then applied. On
edges and in areas where spray drift may be a problem we apply the sealer by
hand with squeegees or brushes. Larger areas are sprayed. On parking lots
and high traffic drives we always apply
TWO COATS of sealer. First coat is
applied and allowed to dry, and then a second coat in applied, generally on the
same day.
TWO COATS OF SEALER PROVIDE TWICE THE WEAR for a
relatively small increase in cost.

Our
Amquard PLUS sealer starts as a polymerized blend of coal tar and
asphalt emulsion meeting Federal specification RP 355e. We then mix this
sealer with silica sand and other additives in a proprietary blend to give you a
deep black, nonskid, long-lasting sealcoat.
NO ONE ELSE IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN USES THIS SEALER BLEND
AND, TO OUR KNOWLEDGE, NO ONE ELSE APPLIES TWO COATS OF
SEALER ON ALL COMMERCIAL LOTS.
LINE PAINTING
After cracksealing and sealcoating lines, arrows and handicapped symbols
are reapplied using
Sherwin Williams traffic paint. We also design, layout and
paint lines on newly paved lots. We can layout traffic markings to get the best
use of your space while maintaining safe and easy traffic flow.
